Orange decides to implement the pioneering WeRoam SIM authentication service.

Berne, March 24, 2004. Within the scope of its WLAN strategy, mobile operator Orange has decided for Switzerland to implement the pioneering SIM authentication technology and global roaming service by WeRoam, a service belonging to TOGEWAnet AG. This business partnership with WeRoam will enable Orange to offer its customers access to 8,000 national and international hotspots with immediate effect. WeRoam will also enable Orange's customers to access the wireless Internet service via SIM authentication on a secure and convenient way. This system does away with the need to use annoying voucher cards, temporary passwords and other time-consuming log-in procedures. All users need is a SIM card and a personal PIN number.

This new WLAN service will complement Orange's existing GSM and GPRS mobile communication solutions. Indeed, in the future SIM authentication is set to make seamless transitions between WLAN, GPRS and UMTS possible.

WeRoam is a global WLAN roaming service and, as a neutral service platform, connects the networks of the leading mobile-phone and telecommunications companies with the thousands of hotspot locations belonging to wireless Internet service providers. The open WeRoam platform offers user's a cost-effective way in to SIM-based authentication, is ready to work with future standards such as EAP/SIM and also supports the RADIUS standard.

Orange Communications AG, Lausanne, is 100 % owned by Orange SA / France Telecom Group. On the 29th May 1998 the Federal Communications Office (BAKOM) granted Orange a license to build and operate an 1800 MHz GSM mobile network. On 29th June 1999 Orange entered the Swiss market as a provider and its network now covers almost 99% of the Swiss population. In December 2000 Orange acquired one of the four UMTS licenses. At the end of 2003 Orange achieved a total revenue of 1'169 million francs and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 296 million francs. By the end of December 2003 Orange had 1'085'000 customers, had invested over 3 billion francs and employs 1500 people. www.orange.ch

WeRoam is the trading name of Swiss company TOGEWAnet AG. Established in 2001 and owned by TOGEWA Holding and Infonet Services Corporation, WeRoam specializes in mobility management and roaming optimization solutions for the mobile and wireless telecommunications sector.

The WeRoam service facilitates the seamless integration of WLAN and GSM network technologies, enabling global roaming for WLAN services and thereafter facilitating automatic and secures roaming between WLAN, GSM and GPRS. Key solutions found in GSM technology have been adopted to make up the WeRoam service, which provides secure authentication, signaling conversion, clearing and settlement services (based on TAP - Transferred Account Procedure) and management of contractual roaming agreements. This positions WeRoam as the only open roaming platform supporting all relevant authenticcation methods for WLAN Roaming such as SIM, Radius and EAP SIM. Registration is pending to patent WeRoam' innovative SIM based WLAN Roaming technology.

The subscriber will benefit from greater roaming coverage and the convenience of swapping between different standards with the additional advantage of having a single identity, thus receiving only one bill from his home network operator despite having visited a number of operators and countries and having used different mobile standards.

Close ties with its' sister company, Comfone AG, also founded by the umbrella company of TOGEWA Group, allow TOGEWAnet to benefit from Comfone' depth of experience in offering a wide range of roaming services to GSM operators. www.weroam.com
