AT4 wireless completes testing of first device worldwide for Continua Health Alliance Certification

Malaga, Spain, 17 of February 2009 — AT4 wireless, a leading wireless certification and testing laboratory, announced that it has successfully completed certification testing of the Nonin 2500 PalmSAT® handheld pulse oximeter with USB, the first product worldwide which demonstrates compliance to Continua Health Alliance certification requirements.

AT4 wireless was selected at the end of 2008 by Continua Health Alliance, an open industry consortium of technology, healthcare and fitness market leader companies, to provide certification testing services for the first wave of new personal monitoring products based on Continua Health Alliance guidelines. AT4 wireless was also selected to develop a fully automated Test System that will be used for the Continua Health Alliance certification program.

eHealth has been one of AT4 wireless’ focus areas in recent years, and the company has also contributed to the development of new technologies in this field. Some examples of this work are collaborative projects with hospitals to design and integrate solutions based on RFID, Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi® and wireless sensor networks, among other technologies. In addition AT4 wireless has been accredited by Spanish Ministry of Health to carry out required testing for medical devices applying Directive 93/42/EEC.
