Chвtillon, France and Dublin, Ireland, 15th of June 2005 - Today, Voxpilot, the leading VoiceXML solution provider, announced the launch of its Open Media Platform (OMP) version 2.1, which includes new support for multimedia and video interactive services.

The availability of new media features, driven by improved terminal and network capabilities, is enabling the delivery of new video applications and multimedia services. Exciting new services are now possible, for example, weather reports, traffic information, location based services, videoconferencing, movie trailers, and music video clips. Video and multimedia services are poised to become a growth factor for the mobile telecom market in the coming years. This trend will help carriers to quickly build a return on their UMTS and IP investments. For enterprises, video applications represent a new and effective channel to their customers.

The Voxpilot OMP, in addition to supporting rich audio processing capabilities such as speech synthesis and speech recognition, is engineered to support video applications and multimedia services in currently deployed 3G networks (3G-324M). The OMP architecture combines advanced telephony features with Internet capabilities, such as SIP, and web technologies, such as VoiceXML. In particular, through its high-quality implementation of modern protocols and standards, the Voxpilot OMP opens the door to powerful and rich media services within IP Multimedia System (IMS) architectures. Already, a range of video services are in production based on Voxpilot technology.

In February 2005, the Monaco Telecom mobile operator, MonaCell, deployed Voxpilot's VideoMail solution based on OMP as its first video messaging service on its 3G network. AlloCinй, the leading French movie ticketing and information service, has launched a video-enabled service, which allows their customers to browse video trailers and choose their cinema tickets.
